1. Within the past few months, about twelve colleges throughout the state have decided to switch from quarters to semesters in the near future. One of theses schools is our very own Ohio State University that will be switching to semesters in the fall of 2012. Many students have an issue with this decision because students did not have a say in this huge decision that will cause much confusion while costing between 8.7 and 11.2 million dollars due to changes such as computer program changes and updates. Semesters would also cause students to be in the middle of semesters while on both Christmas and Spring breaks.
2. A picture is worth a thousand words, and using one to depict the issues in our Commonplace essays, or any text visually intrigues the reader. A picture allows the audience to have their own view on the issue and it also could help foreshadow the issue in the paper. Honestly, we all know that reading and viewing nothing but text can be rather boring, but the presence of an image adds something interesting to the essay.
